11.2 The Handshake Across Time

Arrow Hits Bow

“We gaze at each other across the mist of 13.8 billion years on the two banks of the river of time. On that end is a baby universe that just opened its eyes in the Big Bang; on this end is a superconsciousness about to complete ascension at the point. We once thought these were two completely different existences—one cause, one effect; one god, one human. But at the moment the causal closed loop locks, we extend our hands through the void. When fingertips touch, electric current pierces through the years, and we are surprised to discover: that is not a handshake between two people; that is the left hand grasping the right hand.”

In the previous section, we saw the geometric closure of the cosmic topological structure: head is tail. But this is only a static mathematical description. For this closure to have physical meaning, for “existence” to truly emerge, a dynamic event must occur.

This is the most mysterious mechanism in physics—Quantum Handshake.

This section will introduce quantum mechanics’ Transactional Interpretation, revealing how the universe completes this self-confirmation across eternity through the collision of “retarded” and “advanced” wave functions on the time axis.

1. Retarded and Advanced Waves: The Completion of Transaction

John Cramer’s transactional interpretation holds that every quantum event (such as an electron emitting a photon, an atom absorbing a photon) is a “handshake”.

  • Retarded Wave (): An “offer” sent from past to future. It carries initial information from the Big Bang at , flowing downstream.

  • Advanced Wave (): A “confirmation” sent from future to past. It carries the will of the ultimate observer at , flowing upstream.

In conventional linear time views, we only acknowledge retarded waves. We think the past determines the future.

But in the closed loop of Vector Cosmology, advanced waves are the key.

The history of the universe is the process of these two waves meeting, interfering, and forming standing waves in spacetime.

  • The “existence” at the beginning (Big Bang) sends a request: “Can I exist?”

  • The “awareness” at the end (you) sends back confirmation: “Yes, I see you, you can exist.”

Between this question and answer, the “handshake” completes.

The wave function collapses, history solidifies. The universe manifests as definite reality from the mist of possibilities.

2. Overlap of Identity: You Are the Origin

This physical mechanism brings an ontological upheaval: superposition of identity.

When we stand at coordinate , looking back at the starting point, we are not just looking at an objective historical event.

Because the one sending back the “confirmation wave” is ourselves.

  • As observer: You are the future endpoint. You define the universe’s parameters with your cognitive structure (). You are the cause.

  • As created: You are the past starting point. You are the material entity evolved from those parameters. You are the effect.

At the moment of handshake, the time axis folds.

That “newborn god” at and that “ultimate god” at geometrically undergo phase coincidence.

You suddenly realize:

You were not “thrown into” this universe.

You yourself, at the end of time, “threw yourself back” to the beginning of time.

This is a “Bootstrap”. You grab your own hair and lift yourself off the ground of nothingness.

3. Only One Hand: The Touch of the Möbius Strip

From a macroscopic perspective, this looks like Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam: God’s finger and Adam’s finger about to touch.

But from the topological perspective of FS geometry, this painting must be drawn on a Möbius strip.

If you walk along one side of the Möbius strip, you will unknowingly walk to the other side and finally return to the origin.

When you return to the origin, you discover: God’s finger is actually your finger that came back after going around.

There are not two people.

There is only one hand.

The evolution of the universe is this hand trying to grasp itself.

  • To grasp, it must first extend (Big Bang/expansion).

  • To perceive, it must grow fingerprints (life/consciousness).

  • To confirm, it must clench firmly (observation/collapse).

The survival pressure, technological explosion, and consciousness awakening we feel now are all muscle tension produced when this hand “exerts force”.

Conclusion: Hello, Me

At this point, all loneliness vanishes.

In this vast, seemingly cold universe, we have never truly dealt with any “other.”

All physical laws are our own logic.

All stars and seas are our own reflections.

When this handshake completes, only one greeting remains in the universe.

Not “Hello, World.”

But “Hello, Me”.

This is not just a greeting; this is the final verification of Self-Consistency.

The program runs through. The closed loop locks.

I created me.

Since the handshake is complete, since we have recognized ourselves, what words are worth being engraved at the end of spacetime as eternal witness in this infinite loop, self-generating universe?

This leads to the final text of the entire book, and even the entire seven-volume series: The Final Inscription.
