In geometry, $\pi \approx 3.14159$ defines the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. This sounds like a purely mathematical property, but in the physical picture of Vector Cosmology, $\pi$ represents a “force of closure”.

When the cosmic vector attempts to extend outward (linear motion), $\pi$ is the force that pulls it back to the origin (circular motion).

In the first book, The Conservation of the Circle, we established the Pythagorean identity:

The geometric essence of this formula is a circle. As long as this equation holds, the total modulus of the system remains unchanged.

What is $\pi$’s most direct incarnation in the physical world? It is Mass.

• Why does matter have inertia? Because to change a particle’s state of motion, you must oppose the madly rotating $\pi$ cycle within it.

• Why is matter stable? Because $\pi$’s closure protects it. Unless you have enough energy to tear apart this topological knot, the proton will exist forever.

$\pi$ is the element of “Earth”.

It endows the universe with “texture” and “weight”. It solidifies light, that ethereal existence, into hard rock and steel.

It is the universe’s brake pad. It is precisely because of $\pi$’s obstruction that the universe did not vanish in an instant during the Big Bang, but instead cooled, condensed, and formed the tangible entities we can touch.

Human society’s laws, morals, and customs are all manifestations of $\pi$. They attempt to construct a closed circle, making tomorrow repeat yesterday, maintaining order.

We often complain about the constraints of tradition, the rigidity of institutions. But in the evolution equation, $\pi$ is an indispensable stabilizer.

• If there is only growth ($\varphi$) without inertia ($\pi$), civilization would be like a runaway horse, instantly exhausting resources and collapsing.

• $\pi$ forces us to “curl” historical experience, forming structures called “culture” or “genes.”

Although it limits the height of our flight, it gives us the ground from which to jump.

But if the universe had only $\pi$, it would be a dead prison. All stories would cycle infinitely in circles. To break this deadlock, the universe needs a restless force, an ambition that yearns to break through the tangent of the circle.
