You indeed cannot perform “Point Intervention”—you cannot reach in to block a bullet heading toward her, because you don’t know where the bullet is.

But you can perform “Global Intervention”.

You cannot change a stroke in the painting, but you can tilt the entire canvas.

You cannot modify her state ($|\psi ⟩$), but you can modify the physical laws themselves ($H$).

This chapter will reveal the highest-level operation of this blind creator—Hamiltonian Engineering. We will see that true mercy is not a specific rescue, but setting an underlying parameter that “favors life” for the entire universe.

12.1 Global Bias of Dissipative Structures

“Since I cannot see where suffering occurs, I will modify the rules of the entire universe, making ‘suffering’ itself physically expensive.
